Megachile (Eutricharea) serricauda
Size
Identifying Characteristics
Smaller than M. maculariformis but with the same banded, leaf-shaped metasoma in the female. The female does not have pale hair on the last visible segment of the abdomen. Males have a distinctive row of sharp teeth at the end of the abdomen and a modification of the foreleg that looks something like a curled leaf.
Distinctive Features
Can be distinguished from M. maculariformis by the absence of orange hair and from M. macularis by the smaller size, narrower hair bands and (females) absence of white hair on T6 or (males) simpler fore tarsus.
