Identifying Characteristics
Female with T5 and T6 covered with long orange hairs; no white band on T4, sometimes a few orange hairs. Males have a distinctive expanded fore tarsus.
Distinctive Features
The five species M. aurifrons, M. heliophila, M. mundifica, M. ordinaria and M. tasmanica are related. Females have similar head shapes and mandibles and males all have expanded fore tarsi.
