Size
Identifying Characteristics
Both sexes have a yellow collar but no other yellow on the back. This is the only species in the area with the clypeus almost entirely yellow, but without yellow above the antennal sockets. Males have yellow in the middle of the face above the antennal sockets, but can be distinguished from other such species by the round face and relatively broad clypeus.
Distinctive Features
The male is territorial and may be seen chasing other males from flowers. Most commonly found on Banksia.
